Description

"White Rabbit" is not the most extreme terrain at Northstar but it does offer some of the best views of Lake Tahoe and its most unique natural features.

This area is south-west facing so it needs a good amount of snow in order to be opened by Ski Patrol.

To access you must take the "Martis Camp Express" up to the peak of Lookout Mountain and take a right off the top of the lift and ski down about 500 feet.

On skiers left you will see the orange boundary lines and eventually you will see signage for "White Rabbit" up a bit higher on a large pine tree.

There is a gate which can be opened and closed by Ski Patrol.

When opened, this gate is the only safe access point.

Drop in past the gate and you will come to an open area where on a clear day you can see over the entirety of Lake Tahoe and further.

The top section and most of the way down is a challenging ski but is not terribly difficult.

There are very wide open areas for a amazing powder turns and many large boulders scattered across the zone that are great for dropping off of.

Once you get near the bottom you will see that the zone feeds directly into "Drifter" which leads back to the bottom of "Promised Land Express" or you can stay left and continue onto "Backside Express".
