Description

Emigrant Bowl is a nice wide, south-east facing slope.

It sits underneath Emigrant peak and is not too busy as you have to traverse into it.

It has a nice, short medium steep pitch and is pretty wide open.

From the top of Emigrant chair, take the Monument Ridge run down the ridge to a saddle and then traverse right.

The steepest part is right off the top when you start your traverse, then head through some trees and ski the slope that opens up after the trees down to your left.

Watch for rocks as you head from left to right as they tend to increase the further right you go until you are under The Pocket.

Be careful of the road cut part way down as you ski down to the road that connects Gold Coast Express to the top of Shirley Lake Express.

This run gets early morning sun, so it's one of the first to soften up in the springtime.

You can also find some powder turns here after other areas are skied out.
