Description

Little Beehive is a rocky summit near Lake Agnes that grants an especially wide panorama.

From the top you can see over Lake Louise and much of the Bow River Valley unfolding below, and mountains all around.

The formation is named in conjunction with Big Beehive, which is the prominent buttress above Mirror Lake. To get to Little Beehive, you’ll begin on the wide path toward Lake Agnes, but shortly after passing Mirror Lake you’ll turn on a steeper and narrower trail.

The views get good right away, as this trail leaves the tall trees and crosses a more open slope of shorter vegetation.

It doesn’t stay so steep for very long, but remains somewhat uphill and rocky.

Soon you’ll encounter truly jaw-dropping views from clifftop vantage points. The hike mapped here is the most direct route to Little Beehive, but it can also be linked with a trip to Lake Agnes with a little extra distance.

Be wary of conditions when hiking to Little Beehive.

Because of the exposure and steepness near the top, it can be dangerous in bad weather.
