Analysing terrain data
Gold Hill 9 is a double black diamond extreme run that can be accessed by hiking a groomed cat track from the Revelation Lift (lift 15).
Get off of this lift and to your left is the access gate to the Gold Hill Chutes.
The hike is steep in some spots but is doable because the track is groomed and well maintained, the hike should take you around 45 minutes.
There is a staircase you must climb to access this chute, which is an experience in itself.
Gold Hill 9 is a fan favorite amongst Telluride locals.
This chute is wider than the other chutes, and big rock walls surround this steep chute on either side.
Entering the chute can be a bit tricky, as it is pretty rocky at the top-you can either try to ski around the rocks or launch yourself over the rocks and into the chute.
The chute spits you out into Palmyra Basin, where you can ski some deep, often times untracked powder.
This is a great run for the extreme skier looking for an unforgettable experience from start to finish.
