Analysing terrain data
Mountain Quail is a double black diamond run that can be accessed by hiking to the end of Black Iron Bowl, a hike that should take you about 30 to 45 minutes from the Prospect Express (lift 12).
Mountain Quail is a very wide chute, making it a great first big mountain chute.
This run is slightly lower angle than Dihedral Chute, a neighboring double black diamond extreme chute, and Mountain Quail provides access to some of the best terrain in Jello's Bowl, as well as access to Review and Nice Chute, two double black extreme areas to skier's right of Jello's Bowl.
Mountain Quail sees a lot of traffic, therefore it can get skied out quickly.
This is a perfect run for skiers looking for an introduction to big mountain skiing, without too long of a hike.
