Description

A long skin from the bottom of Spruce Creek Trailhead will access this line.

If you are going to ski this line, you might as well tack on Stegosaurus Ridge.

Make sure before even attempting this line, that you are up to date with the weather conditions.

A day with low visibility and cloud cover can be challenging for this specific zone.

Starting at the trailhead, follow the route, and make sure you are staying right at the fork when hiking uphill.

Once the trail forks, pay attention to where you are hiking as this trail can be difficult to follow.

When you make it to a large opening and the trees start to end, keep following the long skin up through the large snowfield.

Please prepare for a weather change as this area is highly exposed to wind.

The route will be long but very mellow to the base of the bowl.

It will go across a few steeper pitches until you reach the bottom of Herb's Bowl.

From here choose your skin route wisely to the summit of Father Dyer Ridge/Stegosaurus Ridge, you may eventually have to boot pack.

If you choose to Summit Father Dyer, be aware of high exposure on the ridge.

When you descend the route, feel free to choose the best line through the rock out croppings as you have a few options.

Follow your exit route just the way you came and keep your speed as best you can.
