Description

Take a walk on the wild side of the Grande Motte.

A short run with some interesting skiing on a beautiful, wild glacier.

It is steep and committing if on hard snow, which it often is in the early season.

Although this route is easily accessed from the Grand Motte Cable car, do not underestimate the potential consequences as it sits on a glacier and requires rope, full glacier kit and crevasse rescue equipment. After exiting the cable car to your right the first part of the descent is relatively straight forward.

After passing seracs, the route narrows and steepens creating a risk of slipping especially when icy.

The next part of the route is the steepest and although it is short, it is a 45 degree angle for around 50 metres.

The route finishes at the black piste 'Descente' where you can rejoin the lift system or even descend down the 'Tignes Wall' weather and conditions permitting.
