Analysing terrain data
Von Schmidt is a long, rolling road that starts from the top of the Olympic Express lift (exit left and stay to skier's right) and provides access to both the Tamarack Lodge area and the California side of the mountain (via the connection to the California Trail).
About 1/3rd of the way , look for Bonanza, a blue run with occasionally bumps that will let you cut left towards the East Peak Lodge area and the Dipper and Comet lifts.
If you're headed to California, make sure to keep your speed up as the area where this run turns into California Trail - right around the Tamarack Lodge - is totally flat.
As you cross this slow zone, watch out for skiers and riders coming from you left...
the area above Tamarack Lodge is often the busiest spot on the mountain.
