Description

The Schilt Apollo used to be a full-time groomed red run, however in recent years it has been downgraded to an 'Abfahrtsroute' which means it's now rarely groomed.

To access it you follow the route of the Gimmeln Red Run across the T-Bar trail and then, instead of turning left to access the remainder of the red run, bear right before taking a sharp right to a long undulating section alongside the walking path, where some good air can be found.

From there you wind your way through the hamlet of Schiltalp, taking in various terrain changes before a steep section initiates a flat section which requires speed to get to the Gimmeln T-Bar or Wintertal to continue your skiing.

This is a great run and it is a shame it is now more rarely groomed, as it takes you a long way into the secluded Schilttal valley and makes you feel very far from the lifts.
