-One of the best and longest trails go at Northstar as far as grooming conditions are concerned.
"Challenger" hugs the southern most ski boundary of Northstar and provides spectacular views of Castle Peak in the distance.
The top of "Challenger" is somewhat flat which can be a challenge for snowboarders but it is short lived and it gradually becomes steeper as you venture further in to the trail cut into the tall trees.
If you are looking for a some what lesser known area, stay to skier right and you will come across "Monument Glade".
If you stay on trail you will travel through dense trees which open up to a wide, very well groomed area that is great for high speeds and carving.
If you are there with fresh snow conditions, be sure to venture to skiers right and left into the trees which add more difficulty and fun to the trail.
Most of the trail is a straight shot to lower elevation where the trail sweeps right towards the base area of "The Backside".
Be sure to keep your speed at the bottom of the run to ensure you make it back to the lift without any extra effort.
"Challenger" can be accessed by going right off of "Backside Express" lift or going straight past the Summit Deck and Grill off of "Comstock Express" lift.
