Description

East LA/Pasta Bowl (known simply as East LA by locals) is the bowl to skier's right of Spellbound Bowl.

While there is a pleasant open bowl in the latter half, East LA begins with a wide cliff band with sizable rocks.

People who go to East LA tend to go to get airtime or ski fast chutes.

If you drop into East LA, plan on skiing something committed, or walking on rocks.

There are two chutes one can ski without jumping.

The first starts in the center above the Spacerock, and runs right to left before making a right hand turn into the open bowl.

The second is on the skier's right side, and sneaks over some rocks before exiting into the bowl.

If you're into jumping cliffs, East LA is a good place to find them. Access East LA by taking the Spellbound Traverse from the North Face Lift.

When you get to Spellbound Bowl, turn right along the ridge (and rope line).

Follow the rope line on a mellow sidestep until it comes to a gully.

Go down, then up the hill, and you've arrived in East LA.
