We start our tour through the Westspessart at the car park at the Aschaffenburger Straße in the centre of Sailauf, where there are enough parking spaces for cars.
We start towards the town hall, a listed half-timbered house and keep to the right to leave the town and climb the "Bischling".
Afterwards we relax and let ourselves be rolled down between fields and meadows into the Laufachtal.
In Laufach, the restaurant Brückner invites us to refill our reserves of strength with delicacies from the Spessart, followed by a challenging path marked by numerous metres of altitude along orchards and through the forest in the direction of Waldaschaff.
Once there, it is worth taking a break at the leisure area, which is very popular with young and old with its small lake, beach volleyball court and water playground.
geht´s continues after the break in the direction of Bessenbach.
First we cross the A3, before the path leads us again over many meters of altitude to Waldmichelbach.
After we have mastered the most challenging sections of the route, we start from Waldmichelbach on a mostly level route through Straßbessenbach and Keilberg on the way back towards Sailauf.
Shortly after entering the village, we turn left and climb the last few meters outside the settlement.
A short detour to the St.
Vitus church, which is well known far beyond the parish boundaries for its organ - the little sister of the organ of Westminster Abbey.
