The oldest original parish in SpessartThe oldest parish in Spessart was founded with the consecration of the church in Lohrhaupten in 1057.
The history of the village was marked by the consequences of this strategic village foundation on sparse Bo den.
The culture trail illustrates how people in the past centuries fought off what they needed to live in nature.Route description:The culture trail has a length of 9 km and leads through five stations with information boards south of Lohrhaupten through the forest, sometimes even cross-country over field terraces.
Before the circular walk, it is worth making a small detour to the church with its medieval frescoes 50 metres away.
From the village square in Lohrhaupten you walk through the Gemündener valley, on the route of a historic trade route.
During the course of the further hiking route you learn something about the causes and effects of poaching.
Before you come to an artificially cut aisle, where medieval terraces can be walked on, you come across a small clearing, which gives you a rare view of the Rhön, which is rare for the Spessart.
