A picture-book cultural landscape with seven mills and a pilgrimage church stretches between the Franconian Platte and the Main.
The cultural trail through the Buchental can be started at the information board in Steinfeld am Main.
From the church in Steinfeld you pass the historic washing cellar and reach the Steinfeld district of Hausen, where Caspar Leyser lived, who was beheaded in 1525 as a leader of the Peasant War in Karlstadt.
The next information board provides information about the old Buchental cultural landscape with over 50 prehistoric burial mounds.
An archaeological hiking trail runs nearby (see http://www.hgv-steinfeld.de/).
Then follows the station Reußenmühle, from where today agriculture and landscape conservation are carried out, so that the view into the valley is preserved.
The Mariabuchen pilgrimage church is beautifully situated and is today looked after by the Community of Franciscan Minorites.
The final station Steinbach impresses with the ensemble of baroque church and castle.
