Description

Where the wolf howls on the church pathNot far from the old church path between the Hobbach church and Oberaulenbach castle, wolves were once caught in a brick pit.

This is one of many surprises and views offered by the Hobbach Culture Trail.

Directions:The approx.

7 km long European Culture Trail in the Eschau district of Hobbach leads from St.

John's Church through the village centre to Dillhof, a former farm estate that was demolished in 1920.

Shortly after this station we pass the hamlet Unteraulenbach and turn into a side valley of the Elsava.

With a view of Oberaulenbach Castle we reach the next stop, which informs about the history of the castle owners, the von Mairhofen/Imhäuser family.

Now a path and then a path leads uphill to the Wolfsgrube station (which is a few meters away).

We continue through the forest to the Krepserberg table with a view of the Elsava valley.

The northernmost point is the Schullandheim Hobbach (Roland-Eller-Umweltzentrum), before the Johanneskirche is reached again.

A height difference of approx.

100 m has to be overcome.
