Description

The route leads from the Bavarian-Hessian border in Wenigumstadt first to Großostheim, where you can visit the Nöthig estate and the church of St.

Peter and Paul.

Then it goes at the lock in Obernau over the Main, through the Obernauer forest, and over the chapel Maria Frieden to the Haibacher district Grünmorsbach.

At the top in the direction of Straßbessenbach you reach the Klingerhof with a wonderful panoramic view and the possibility to stop for a bite to eat at the Waldmichelbacher Hof before the wonderful forest trip down into the Aschafftal follows.

After passing under the A3 motorway, we pass through Waldaschaff and above Weibersbrunn we reach the junction with the famous long-distance hiking trail Eselsweg.

After another 8 kilometres we reach the small scattered settlement of Lichtenau in the Hafenlohrtal where you can have a snack.
