Description

The start of this hike to the Great Arbersee is the Kaisersteig car park near Rabenstein, a small village near Zwiesel.

The path first leads up to the Dachsriegel - first on gravel roads, later on a small forest path! TestAfter almost five kilometres uphill and downhill through dense forests, the actual ascent to the Great Arbersee begins.

Along the course of the Kleine Deffernik stream you come to an idyllic forest path leading to the Kaisersteig, a gravel hiking trail.

Follow the Kaisersteig in a westerly direction until a small forest path branches off to the Großer Arbersee, where the atmosphere of the Großer Arbersees quickly makes you forget the effort of the ascent.

The charming location below the Arberfelswände enchants every hiker.

Our tip: The Arbersee is particularly attractive in the evening hours when the much-visited place regains its silence.

Conclusion: As one of the three ice age lakes of the Bavarian Forest, the Great Arbersee is one of the scenic highlights of the region.
