Description

Mckenzie Peak, SW Face is a fantastic run for experienced skiers.

It is a long hike but has a great reward.

From the top you can see the entire valley on one side and the mountain peaks towards Rogers Pass on the other.

It is a long run from the top and a wide face with lots of options.

Be cautious of snow ghosts (alpine trees covered in ice).

They can be hard to see on the way down, but they also serve as great natural features to air off of.

You have two options on the way down.

You can descend skiers right and it will bring you to South Bowl, or you can descend skiers left which will take you to Montana ridge.

This face gets lots of sun in the late winter and can be subject to solar effects and high winds.
