Description

Avalanche Gulch is a very popular run.

One merely goes through the High Traverse gate, and traverses around the first corner and drops into 1000ft of fall line skiing.

It starts out steeper, then mellows out into a wide gulley.

There are many options to traverse out of the main gulch to the North or South if one feels like they are getting worked by the large moguls that form.

It is a great run later on a powder day, and the shoulders of the main gulley hold nice pockets of powder late into the day.

It keeps cold, chalky snow into the spring due to the shade it receives from the ridge to the South.
