M.: At the beginning of the 12th century the church was built as a daughter church of the old parish of Feldkirchen.

St.

Martin was founded as a resting place for traders along the "via regia", the old trade route from the Danube to Bohemia.

1242 St.

Martin is mentioned for the first time in a document.

The inventor of baking powder for stomach sufferers, Eduard Haas, lived in St.

Martin from 1864 to 1878.

Attractions: Parish church, Eduard-Haas fountain, outdoor adventure pool.

From the town centre drive north, after 300 m geht´s left downhill to Falkenbach 1.4 km Falkenbach : right to Grub, in Falkenberg cross the crossroads straight and follow the road left.

5 km Plöcking : In the Erlebniswelt Granit you will find Austria's largest natural stone educational trail (guided tours possible by appointment - +43(0)664/4630014); Arena Granit: In the natural stage in the historic quarry with rows of granite seats for 500 visitors, open-air events take place during the summer months.

From Plöcking take the country road down to the Danube.

1.3 km after Plöcking, a detour (300 m) to Neuhaus Castle is a good idea.

6.6 km Neuhaus Castle: Neuhaus was built in the 12th century as a hunting lodge for the bishop of Passau.

At the end of the 14th century, the castle was extended to its present size by the Schaunberg family.

Guided tours by appointment (+43(0)664/2534810)10.2 km Partenstein storage power station: the gravel road leads you steeply uphill to the village of 12 km Ramersberg on the right side of the power house.

From Ramersberg you cycle along the Güterweg up to the village of 14.4 km Kleinzell.

At the municipal office, turn right into the country road, which you leave 2.3 km later again to the right on the Güterweg in the direction of St.

Martin.

Finally you reach the 19.4 km Shell petrol station (bike rental and repair).

At the petrol station you have to turn left into the country road.

Directly before the federal road you drive right along the accompanying goods road and before the car dealership geht´s again to the right.

Before the Güterweg descends, turn left into the Feldweg.

At the end of the dirt road turn right to the 20.9 km Hofstetter brewery (visit by appointment: +43(0)7232/2204).

South of the brewery geht´s left on the cycle path next to the country road after23,1 km St.
