Description

A scenic, straightforward ski down the south facing slopes beneath the Pierre Avoi.

Turn left out of the top of the Tournelle chair and traverse high and right towards the Pierre Avoi to reach the ridge.

There are three options.

Take the fall line earlier to avoid more walking / polling or continue to reach the ridge further on and ski the fall line from here.

You can ski directly down the bowl, past the first hiking trail, all the way to a second hiking trail which you can follow to join the Savoleyres cable car.

If you traverse further right under the Pierre Avoi you can join the run to the Marlenaz restaurant.

A great spot for lunch in the sun.

The skiing here is often good early season after a fresh dump of snow.

The grassy slopes don't need much snow cover to make for good skiing.

Later in the season, whilst you get to enjoy the sunny skiing, the snow suffers due to the South facing aspect.

Note: beware of avalanche risk from the steep slopes above you around the Pierre Avoi.
