Description
The continuously marked Alpe-Adria-Trail is a varied, cross-border, 750 km long expedition through three countries - Austria, Italy and Slovenia - and three cultures.
From the foot of the majestic Grossglockner to the azure blue sea.
With views of a balanced mixture of magnificent natural spectacles, alpine water experiences and fascinating flora and fauna.
Along lakes, streams and rivers to the destination called Adriatic Sea.
What is particularly practical here is that the Alpe-Adria-Trail Booking Centre helps with the implementation and organisation of the individual tour of your choice. From the foot of the highest mountain in Austria, the 3,798 m high Grossglockner, to the Adriatic Sea: In 43 stages, each of them with a distance of around 17 km, it goes through Carinthia, Slovenia and Friuli Venezia Giulia.
Accompanied by the mild climate, which promises many hours of sunshine and pleasant temperatures.
In total about 750 km to the south.
The Alpe-Adria-Trail-Infopoints provide details about the respective location and the stage in the form of three columns on a platform, which are located in each stage location. By calling the Alpe-Adria-Trail booking centre or clicking on www.alpe-adria-trail.com, trekking friends can book their hiking route.
Here you can choose from various packages or have your individual desired tour put together after personal consultation.
The Alpe-Adria-Trail has also made it into travel literature: two hiking guides available in German-language bookstores provide valuable tips and information for individual planning.
And in 2016 the first English Alpe-Adria-Trail hiking guide will be published by Bradt Verlag.
The free Alpe-Adria-Trail-App is also an ideal online tour planner from home or as a local companion. The geographical destination of the Alpe-Adria Trail is Muggia, just south of the old imperial port of Trieste.
The trail follows the water in its various forms, from the eternal ice of the Großglockner to waterfalls, rivers and lakes to the sea.
The paths have actually always existed, for the first time they have now been cartographically brought together in their entirety.
If you don't want to cover the entire route, you can opt for favourite stages in the "Garden of Eden", which have one thing in common: The paradisiacal views, the magnificent natural spectacles, glittering bathing lakes, majestic mountain peaks and finally the azure blue Adriatic Sea.
