The Garneratal is a southern side valley of the Montafon in the municipality of Gaschurn. The beauty of the valley is appreciated by nature-loving hikers and has even served as a film backdrop due to its originality. The Alpe Garnera offers regional delicacies from the beginning of July to the beginning of September.

Description

A good hiking trail leads from the middle station of the Versettlabahn Gaschurn (1480 m) via Maisäß Lifinar to Alpe Garnera (1680 m) and via Maisäß Ganeu (1400 m) back to Gaschurn.

On the Melkalpe Garnera, traditional and innovative dairy products are produced from fresh Alpine milk in the "Sennkuchi".

In addition to the well-known "Sura Kees", a lean cheese, and Alpine butter, new products such as the "Saladiner" - a tasty soft cheese - as well as the Garnerataler semi-hard cheese and yoghurt are produced.

These Alpp products can be tasted and bought at a snack.

The Alpp personnel are also happy to explain how these products are made.

The Maisäß Ganeu lies on approx.

1400 m and serves as "intermediate station" for the animals in the spring (from end of May to end of June) and autumn (middle of September to beginning of October), depending upon weather.
