More than 1,100 meters of ascent await us on this tour to the "roof" of the Fischbach Alps, the Stuhleck. First out of the town of Mürzzuschlag we soon reach beautiful sections through forests and over alpine pastures such as the Schwarzriegelalm. The subsequent ascent up to the ridge of the Stuhleck is another sweaty experience, but the view afterwards and at the Stuhleck compensates for all the strain.

Description

From Mürzzuschlag we follow the tracks of ski pioneers Toni Schruf and Max Kleinoscheg to the highest peak on the eastern edge of the Alps.

It was the two of them who brought skiing to the Alpine region and in 1892 climbed the Stuhleck as the first Alpine summit with skis.

You can convince yourself of the cradle of skiing in winter!sport!museum! of the FIS, located in the center of Mürzzuschlag.
