Description

The tour starts at the "https://www.krimmler-tauernhaus.at/sommer/"Tauernhaus in the Krimml Achental.

The trail leads over the Rainbachscharte to the "https://www.zittauerhuette.at/zittauer-huette-home/"Zittauer Hütte in the Wildgerlostal.

A wonderful view of the upper and lower Gerlossee awaits you there.

Via the Rosskarscharte it goes to the "http://www.richterhuette.com/"Richter Hütte.

Continue hiking over the Gamsscharte to the "https://www.plauener-huette.at/willkommen/"Plauener Hütte.

The path now leads towards South Tyrol: Heiliges Geistjöchl/Forcella di Campo.

The Lausitzerweg leads you past the Krimmler Tauern over the Teufelsstiege to the Birnlücken hut.

You cross the border back to Austria at Birnlücke/Forcella del Picco.

The "https://www.warnsdorferhuette.at/"Warnsdorfer hut with the ice lake about 15 minutes away is already back in the Krimml Achental.

Afterwards you hike from here back to the Krimml Tauernhaus - our starting point.
