74 ha large Finkensteiner Moor lies west of Lake Faak between Finkenstein and Faak am See.
It mainly has extensive reed beds, but also still mown wet meadows and is crossed by the Rauschenbach and Faaker Seebach.
There is also a cycle path through the area. The Finkensteiner Moor is an important habitat and breeding place for birds and an important resting and feeding place during bird migration.
Beside it, some rare big-butterflies, big and small dragonflies occur here.
Since 1984, most of the moor has been designated a nature reserve. Along the cycle path through the Finkensteiner Moor, a theme path was created with a total of 10 information panels that provide an insight into the special features of the moor.
