Description

You leave the Edelhütte (2.238m) and hike on the very well marked path over some serpentines to a plateau at approx.

2.400m.

Always the summit in the field of vision follows now a steep passage over many hairpin bends.

The path markings are clearly visible on stones or small wooden posts.

At an altitude of approx.

2,650m, the well laid out climb leads to the right over large rock slabs and scree to the silver saddle (Popbergschneide, 2,700m).

Here begins the difficult part of the summit ascent.

The remaining 300 meters of altitude difference you master over the west ridge to the almost 3000 meters high mountain.

You should not be distracted by the many ascent possibilities and follow the path markings exactly.

These red markings are attached to many stones.

Over large stone slabs you finally reach the southern summit of the Ahornspitze.

To reach the main summit, descend a few meters to the north.

The most dangerous spot here is secured with a steel cable.

From the small saddle it is only a few meters to the summit. The summit of the 2,973m high elevation is particularly impressive because of the impressive view of the surrounding three thousand metre peaks and the beautiful landscapes of the Zillertal. When descending, you have to pay attention to the rockfall, which is a serious danger.
