The starting point for the Kalkalpenweg is the station Großraming.
From here, trail no.
492 leads uphill over meadows and through woods to the Bamacher car park (access by car).
From here, the forest trail climbs steeply up to a forest road - here it becomes really steep for a short time on the forest slope.
The last ascent leads in serpentines through the forest until the Ennser Hütte is visible through the trees and the first stage destination is reached.
From here you have a fantastic panoramic view of the Haller Mauern, the Reichraminger Hintergebirge and the Sensengebirge up to the Toten Gebirge and the foothills of the Alps.
A detour to the Almkogel (1,513 m), approx.
45 minutes on foot) is recommended.
