Through a settlement with wonderful panoramic views as far as the Alps.
Past meadows, wayside shrines, chapels and cobbles (group of hedges with stone remains), across the wildly romantic Käfermühlbach valley with its mossy rock faces, the almost gorge-like character along the course of the stream with its primeval forest.
The ruin Saxenegg (built in 1297) can be reached from here, off the hiking trail.
There are still remaining walls and an impressive moat around the former castle square.
Ascent to the idyllic Elmböck-Alm (holiday apartments) past the access road to the disc golf course.
Their visit is absolutely worthwhile and guarantees leisure fun.
Continue to one of the largest pitch oil stones in the Mühlviertel near the Dechtelgruber Chapel.
Downhill through the forest in´s valley and then the climb to the village.
Lined by rock formations that amaze one as Mühlviertler Restlinge with their weathering of wool sacks, meadows and hedges.
