Description

This is the steepest line in the region.

From Covered Wagon Peak or from traversing just below, head due East through the boundary line and continue straight across the sweeping high alpine terrain.

You will need to stay as high as you can and perform some minor side-stepping.

Traverse out until you see some small shrubs/trees on a faint ridge.

If you look uphill, this ridge should lead up to Melissa Corey Peak.

Here, you will find a blind rollover that leads into an extremely steep couloir that will narrow just above the apron.

All kinds of snow conditions can be found due to heavy wind exposure.

CAUTION – this line has been known to have slabs break loose.

A fall here may take you off a major cliff on skiers right but most likely the slope will funnel you down to through the couloir onto the apron below.

Skiers left down to couloir sometimes yields ice from frozen waterfalls.

This is also the case inside the crux above the apron during low-snow conditions.

There is an alternate exit instead of the main funnel if you head to skiers right before heading down into the main crux .

Once out of the chute and on the apron you can either take glory turns down to Emigrant Lake or stay hard left and take the sidestepping traverse that leads out of this area and back to the resort.
