On the second leg of the day, the pilgrim can expect an extremely scenic route that takes him to the wide foothills of the Saualpe with its countless mountain slopes that slope gently to the south and are criss-crossed by elongated ditches.
Although one walks along the road for long distances, it is hardly asphalted and rarely used and thus allows a fast and undisturbed hiking.
Those who made it to Greutschach should take the opportunity to stop at the Gasthof Hauser (note: turn left at the late Gothic tabernacle Bildstock east of the church).
It is far and wide the only opportunity to be pampered culinarily or at least to come for a strengthening coffee.
But beware: the inn is open during the week only for groups by appointment.
The next catering possibility will be in Diex again and the way there is still long! It is therefore advisable to take sufficient provisions with you at this stage.
