We follow in the footsteps of Pastor Alois Wildenauer, the most renowned pioneer of the development phase of the Hohe Wand. Cosy shelters and wonderful views await us. With a bit of luck we also meet chamois and ibex.

Description

The most famous pioneer of the development phase of the Hohe Wand is Pastor Alois Wildenauer.

From 1911 to 1921 he was in charge of the parish of Grünbach and called his time here the best of his life: Every free minute he spends trying out new ascent routes to the wall plateau.

Wildenauer explores no less than 184 steep tracks that have never been walked before.

During our hike through the Leitergraben, we will go to his favourite area and can enjoy wonderful views of the via ferrata.
