Even from a distance, the stately castle high above the village catches the eye on the way to Kefermarkt. Just below, the parish church holds a cultural treasure that is world-famous - the Kefermarkt winged altar.

Description

The Neumarkter hiking trail starts at the village square and leads with the sign K39 from there to the outdoor pool.

On the hiking trail K39 you continue over the Lesterbach to the junction Grübl.

From there we walk past the farm Bastl uphill and cross the municipal road Pernau and come to the chapel of Piberhof.

The hiking trail continues through the forest past the Thurner and Steininger farmhouses to Neumarkt.

The way back leads past the farmhouses Fehrebesteiner and Aigner.

A worthwhile view to Kefermarkt and even to the church St.

Michael ob Rauchenödt opens up.

It continues downhill back to the starting point.
