Description

The eventful circular hike begins at car park 4 at the Krimml Water Worlds (1,029 m).

On hiking trail no.

19 you first walk along a beautiful forest path and then pass old customs houses, the birthplace of the Salzburg freedom fighter Anton Wallner and an old farmhouse from 1577.

Afterwards you reach the Panoramahotel Burgeck (1,167 m), where you can rest on the beautiful terrace with a magnificent view of the Krimml Waterfalls.

The hike continues on trail no.

15 to the Heimkehrerkreuz, built in 1964, and to Falkenstein, a rocky peak.

On hiking trail no.

20 you finally descend towards Krimml railway station, a short distance along the main road, before you cross the Bräuerbrücke bridge to the idyllic Achenwaldweg.

On hot days, a healthy cooling down in the Natur-Kneipp facility is recommended.

Parallel to the rushing Krimmler Ache you hike to the foot of the largest waterfalls in Europe and back to the starting point.

The varied circular route can also be hiked in individual sections.
