It doesn't always have to be skiing, snowboarding or cross-country skiing.

Hikers roam the snow-covered fairytale landscape on almost 81 kilometres of cleared paths.

On the way, cosy huts invite you to stop for a bite to eat.

Sitting by the open fire, warming up with a Jaga tea or having a snack for the next few kilometres - this is how you can enjoy snow walks to the full.

Directions: The car park at the underpass in Tannheim, in the direction of the Berg district, is the starting point of our hike.

Eastwards through the district Berg, the Einstein always before eyes, it goes slowly uphill.

We follow the signs to Lohmoos along the road.

We cross some serpentines, then a pasture area which is used in the summer by the local farmers.

We continue through the wonderful winter landscape to the small Lohmoos plateau.

At the fork in the road we follow the road towards Gasthof Zugspitzblick.

Once there we walk along the road to Zöblen to the village square.

There is a bus stop.

Author's tip:Great places to stop for refreshments along the route.Safety information:Please note that there is an increased risk of accidents and injuries during winter hiking.

Particularly in winter, special attention must be paid to the condition of the path.

Suitable clothing, good footwear and hiking poles provide additional safety.

Equipment: A modern and maintained equipment (shoes, sticks and clothes) brings not only a considerable measure of safety but also facilitates the winter hiking enormously.

Sun protection (high protection factor and possibly sunglasses) and sufficient liquid should not be forgotten.Further information and links: ""Tourismusverband Tannheimer Tal " "Gasthof Zugspitzblick
