Description

The difficulty moves between B and C with some places being D.

Since there is no escape from the climb, good physical condition and muscle strength are required.

Since its opening in 2009, the Drachenwand via ferrata has been one of the most spectacular via ferrata routes in Austria.

After only 20 minutes of access, you will already be entering this unique climb along the eastern degree of one of the most striking mountain massifs in the foothills of the Alps.

Then the actual via ferrata follows over a total length of 600m, where 400m of altitude difference are overcome.

The average ascent time is approx.

2 hours and at the summit at over 1,000m above sea level you are rewarded with a fantastic panorama over the Mondsee and the Salzkammergut.

On the via ferrata, helmets and safety equipment are compulsory and can be rented directly on site.

The level of difficulty of the via ferrata Drachenwand is mostly level C, in some exposed places level D.

Since July 2010 there is a new special attraction - the suspension bridge from the Franzosenschanze to the pillar wall.

Courageous people have the possibility to climb the suspension bridge at an airy height, safely leashed far above the abyss.
