One of the highest via ferrata in Austria! Long, impressive ascent to a beautifully shaped 3,000 m summit. Very well secured throughout, but without pins, ladders etc. - thus technically demanding! For less experienced climbers, we recommend this tour accompanied by a state-certified mountain guide! Description

The opinions differ as to the difficulty of the Säuleck via ferrata: originally rated "C" by the builder, the rating suggestions quickly shot up to "E".

The via ferrata in the core zone of the Hohe Tauern National Park was built without any pins or similar aids.

This requires above all a clean foot technique.

It also always makes sense to use the natural grips on the rock.

Those who only pull themselves up by the steel rope will soon complain about tired upper arms! - The via ferrata is located in high alpine surroundings.

The ascent from the valley alone, at 1,300 metres above sea level, is a mountain tour in itself, which is why the overnight stay in the Arthur-von-Schmidhaus is highly recommended! In addition, factors such as altitude, weather and personal fitness must be taken into account when planning tours. If you take this into consideration, you will find a wonderful via ferrata experience in great surroundings!
