Fabulous views and a dip in a mountain lake to finish off – the Blindsee Trail from the Grubigstein mountain to the Blindsee lake is without a doubt one of the main highlights in the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena. The trail itself is generally flowy with a few tough sections every now and then, including a gravel section. The trail is rated between S2 and S3 on the singletrail difficulty scale. Riders should have good bike-handling skills.

Description

The adventure starts with a ride on the Grubigsteinbahnen cable car in Lermoos.

From the top of the cable car there is a forest road (Route 861) to the Grubigalm hut, where the trail begins.

Those who fancy a challenge can ride up via trails 804 and 860 to the Grubigalm hut. Shortly after entering the trail there is a short uphill section, before the route continues along a wider section to the first stream crossing.

This marks the start of a more technical and challenging section.

Riders should choose their line carefully in order to avoid the loose rocks which tend to collect in the ruts formed by other riders.

The reward for all that hard work is a fabulous view of the Blindsee lake! The most difficult part of the trail is at the waterfall, where we recommend that riders push their bikes.

There is then a short section along a forest trail before the next section of singletrack begins on the left.

After this short singletrack section there is another forest road which once again merges into a technical section of singletrack on the left-hand side leading down towards Blindsee lake.

Take a sharp right at the first fork in the trail, then take the beautiful trail along the shore of the lake all the way to the car park, past the Loisachquellen (MTB Route 838) to Biberwier and via the Wachtersteig (MTB Route 867) back to Lermoos.

Tip! There is no better way to relax after this adrenaline-pumping trail than with a dip in the Blindsee lake.

The stone beach and surrounding meadows are a great place to relax and soak up the sun. Source: https://www.tyrol.com/things-to-do/sports/cycling/biketours/a-blindsee-trail
