Description

The Gasselhöhe Abfahrt is a black slope, but definitely not all the way down.

For intermediates there is a little sneak around the steepest section at the very right off the slope, and in all other parts this slope equals some of the steeper red slopes in the region.

In any case: the steep section is called "Black Power" and is part of the black Quartett on Reiteralm, it offers 60% gradient and 31° inclination.

It really is quite steep and it's hard to get down smoothly and not loose your flow, as right before the slope gets narrow and makes a sharp turn to the right.

The steep section starts quite rapidly and there is a blind spot behind the bump in the terrain.

As there is plenty of space to break and gain full control again in the bottom, it' still an enjoyable descent.

Gasselhöhe Abfahrt (3a) merges with Muldenabfahrt (3) and leads towards the bottom station of Muldenlift T-Bar or, if you continue to the right, towards the bottom Station of Gasselhöhebahn 2, which is the 6 person chairlift.
