Description

The FIS is a firm favourite amongst locals, particularly first thing in the morning when it is freshly groomed.

Head right immediately out of the Muttleren/Kandahar chairlift station towards the Bietenhorn, but bear left over a flat section that will require some poling and skating.

Follow this along, making sure to keep your speed up for the flatter sections before you reach a right-hand turn into the main part of the run.

A 500m long natural halfpipe awaits, giving you some of the most enjoyable turns in the resort.

Try and hit this first thing when it is freshly groomed and blast down all in one go, using the banking to your advantage when pushing out some big carves.

Along with the Muttleren, it is another good black run for those looking to move on from skiing reds.

If the snow is fresh then be sure to try some of the off piste on either side of the run - with the best snow generally holding on the shadier right-hand side.

There are some great cornice drops all the way along the right-hand side, which in a high snow year can reach at least 10 feet.
