Description

Starting from the main thoroughfare at Kleine Scheidegg, this piste runs all the way down through the trees via Alpiglen and Brandegg to Grund.

Comprehensive snowmaking has ensured reliable snow conditions throughout much of the winter. The first section is wide open and generally rather gentle in gradient but offers a much better route down to the Arven Garten for beginners.

Beware however that this section can become quite busy with ski school groups as it is perhaps the most popular blue run on this side of the mountain.

From the base of the Arven/Eigernordwand/Honegg chairlift station, bear right and you'll find yourself in increasingly wooded terrain.

From here the snowmaking has really helped ensure good coverage throughout the winter, which makes the long run back into Grund a much more fun experience! Be sure to stop off for a drink at either the bar at Brandegg or at the Schürlibar slightly further down.

The terrain is rolling and the trees provide excellent shelter in poor weather, but the snow can get cut up towards the end of the day as everyone descends towards Grund, so watch out for some icy patches or soft bumps.

In poor snow conditions, especially after a strong freeze-thaw cycle it is worth getting on the train at Brandegg to ensure you skip an icy finish to your run.
