Description

Like the main Männlichen piste (#4), the Eggboden red offers great variety and a good deal of vertical.

It can be accessed either via a cat track running from the Männlichen Berghaus, or directly from the top of the Läger chair, giving you two very different options. Once you have followed the cat track from Männlichen you join a more open slope as you approach the line of the Läger chairlift.

This section is relatively flat, but be aware that things are about to change! Once you cross underneath the wire the run steepens into a narrow gully that runs right under the lift line - so be sure not to fall here as you're in full view of the chair.

Use the steep slope to practice your short turns before opening up as the gradient flattens out.

You'll reach a slight lip before the run steepens again as you approach the Läger lift station - watch out here for skiers joining from both the left and the right and also for a few icy patches that commonly appear by lunchtime.

If you fancy you can head all the way down to Grund but before you do so definitely lap the Läger lift a couple of times first.

The alternative option from the top of the Läger chair is slightly different and is perhaps the better choice, especially as it is usually a bit quieter.

From the top of the chair head down the fairly steep first pitch, which can become icy in places if snow conditions are not quite right, and then bear right.

A left turn will take you down through a fun little natural halfpipe before a short slope brings you back to the steep gully that heads down the path of the chairlift.
