Description

If you are riding the resort you can get up to the Costa Rodona (Pas de la Casa area) or Antenes (Grau Roig) chairlifts and ride down to the mountain road pass and cross the road where the gas station and the hotel are.

On the far left side (coming down from Costa rodona), or on the road to Grau Roig, there is parking. From there you can start hiking up to the top right; a hike which can take you as long as 35 minutes on foot if there is deep snow.

Once there, a flat section goes west for a bit and you will see your next hiking line and the entry point of the line.

30 to 40 minutes more is the time it will take to get to Pic de Maia, but will depend on the equipment used to get to the spot.

There is a road going up but usually the hike takes a shortcut close to the ridge straight up.

Overall 1.5 hours depending on snow conditions and equipment.

Once at the top head to the building, walk around them and walk east over the ridge leaving the bowl on your left.

Usually the eastern ridge is very characteristic due to wind corners so heads up on getting closer.

A wide creek from the top will start going down, it can be ridden to look for a more steep area and get speed.

As soon as you can pretty much see when the left side opens up, start turning left looking to ride on top of the wide ridge.

A deep creek should be visible at your lower right.

Keep riding on the ridge where some trees stand.

You are getting lightly closer to the deep creek on your right.

A wide slope opens up again, ride beside the creek until down the road.

From there you will need a shuttle.

There is a lot of parking space far down where some hotels and the gas station are.

Just a matter of logistics.

There are bus stops there as well to get back to Pas de la Casa or Soldeu, although going to Soldeu is recommended so you can get back up to the slopes and ride back if you need it.
