Description

This famous descent is very popular amongst skiers visiting the area.

Since the new Funifor Punta Indren cable car was installed the route has been marked out.

For the most part it is skied out and full of moguls but if you happen to be one of the first skiers down after a big dump of snow you are in for a treat.

However this itinerary is not for everyone, when the Canale dell'Aquila is icy, it becomes very dangerous.

From the top station of Punta Indren descend the slope just to the left, following the orange sticks all along the itinerary until the last flat area below the Oreste Hutte.

Then, from the little dam, follow the sticks on the left and continue straight ahead.

As the valley becomes narrow keep to the left side for a long traverse until you reach the piste, just before the middle station at Gabiet.

This itinerary is patrolled by pisteurs and rescue is guaranteed if necessary.
