Description

This run can be linked from the Toula glacier if conditions are OK.

It can offer excellent snow and allows you to ski 800 m of off piste terrain far away from any groomed piste. From the Pavilion station go outside and take a left crossing a fence on your right side.

Put skis on and ski rightwards crossing some avalanche barriers.

Keep rightwards to reach the summer path.

Follow this for a few metres then cross on your left a huge couloir.

After this crossing (keep safety distance), ski the open slopes on your right trying to stay near an evident "summer path" that go through the woods.

Before entering dense woods turn left heading to a big flat area.

This long flat zone is the most objective danger zone.

Huge avalanches can come down from the top of the glacier after significant snowfall or strong winds.

At the end of this part turn left and reach Entreves Village.

From here a short hike of 10/15 minutes will take you back to the Sky Way cable car. This descent is quite circuitous and complex to find.

There are a lot of cliffs and steep couloirs that can confuse you first time down.

A Mountain Guide is highly recommended if you're not 100% sure of your skills.
