Description

Al’s Run is on the face of Taos Ski Valley and it’s the first run you see when you arrive.

It’s not the longest run nor is it the steepest run on the mountain, but it takes up a lot of real estate.

It’s 1,600 vertical feet of bumps, rollers and steep pitches.

It can be divided into three distinct sections: The steepest sections are the top and the bottom.

The middle is less steep and, if you've got the skills, you can fly through here.

You can get in and out of the middle section without ever having to ski the two steep sections. Al’s overwhelms the view from the base area and sums up the essence of Taos Ski Valley: challenging.

The bumps, however, are relatively friendly and there’s lots of room if you miss a turn.

When the snow is decent, there are always people on it, some there just to tell their friends they skied Al’s run.

With a foot of fresh powder, Al’s is invaded by locals hoping to get a line of fresh tracks from top to bottom.

The entire run is under Lift 1, so all eyes are on you.

Al's is named after Dr.

Al Rosen, a local from long ago who would ski it wearing an oxygen tank.
