Description

Continue straight into the huge bowl directly in front of you on exiting the Grand Pré chair.

The gentle descent is a succession of rolling bowls dropping to the valley floor.

The slopes to skier's left are generally a little steeper - less experienced skiers can bear right for the gentlest slopes.

The slope does face due south however, so timing is key.

On a powder day, the earlier the better, in spring snow mid-morning is the best time, once the sun has softened the surface slightly.

Too late in either case and the risk of avalanche and/or going through the spring snow top layer increases exponentially.

Once at the valley floor, follow the stream on either bank.

Don't dilly-dally here as an avalanche on the steep slopes above the gorge through which you must travel would be catastrophic. Eventually you join a track on the stream's left bank taking you back to the bottom of the Manchet chair.
