Description

An altogether tighter and more technical alternative to the classic Mickey’s Ears couloirs that spits its passengers out directly onto the Lavachet Wall.

Continue along the ridge past the entrance to the second Mickey’s Ears couloirs, taking care along what is likely to be a technical and rocky ridge walk.

The couloir itself can be rocky as it is exposed to a lot of wind.

There are a couple of narrow chokes to negotiate where rocks and ice are almost certain to be a hazard.

The couloir opens onto a nice apron (provided it hasn’t been scoured by the wind) before joining the Lavachet Wall face.

This is a line that should only be attempted with extremely high confidence in both the depth and stability of the snowpack.
