An exceptional Trail Running route with views of the Cinque Torri, Nuvolau, Averau and Croda da Lago mountains, and a short stretch in the beautiful Val Travenanzes. Intense sports activities on an exceptional panoramic route, with views of the Cinque Torri, Nuvolau, Averau and Croda da Lago mountains, and a short stretch in the beautiful Val Travenanzes.
The trail is on the eastern side, going through the entire area of the Tofane mountains. Start from the centre of Cortina and take the “ex Ferrovia” (disused railway) cycle path towards Fiames.
When you reach the junction for Cadin, leave the cycle path and take the road towards the village.
When you have gone past the houses, take track n° 410 on the right and follow it to Lake Ghedina: here you will discover a breath-taking scene, a small hidden jewel.
Go past the restaurant and, on the right, take track n° 409 towards Cianderou – Posporcora Pass that leads you along the flanks of the majestic Tofane.
From here you will have wonderful views of the entire Valley, and you can savour the air of the forest around you.
Keep right during the descent until you reach track n° 401 which brings you to Val Travenanzes: a narrow, surreal valley, a unique landscape that will give you the impression of having travelled back in time.
When you have reached Cason di Travenanzes, take track n° 404 which, with a gentle uphill section, brings you to the Forcella Col dei Bos gully, the highest point on the circuit. After the Forcella Col dei Bos gully, the descent towards the valley begins: take track n° 402 and after the first hairpin bends, turn left onto track n° 412 in order to reach the very famous Rifugio Dibona mountain lodge, and then track n° 403 which brings you to the Malghe di Fedarola mountain huts.
This part of the route is particularly panoramic, enabling you to admire all of Cortina’s characteristic beauty and diversity.
Stay on track n° 403, which runs near the Rifugio Baita Resch mountain lodge and the restaurant Il Cervo in the hamlet Pocol, and continue to Lacedel-Meleres, from where you can return down to the starting point, Cortina
