Description

Diamond Bowl can be accessed the same way as the other Gemstone Bowls, via the Spanky's Ladder boot pack.

Once at the top, past the gate, take Garnet Bowl as the upper basin that funnels you down into Diamond Bowl, which will be straight ahead.

This bowl is bordered by Ruby Bowl to skier's left and Sapphire Bowl to skier's right.

Ruby Bowl has the easiest entrance, while Diamond has a progressively harder drop in, with Sapphire Bowl being the most challenging and narrow.

This bowl involves the least amount of traversing in comparison to Ruby and Sapphire as Diamond Bowl is located straight ahead from the top of Spanky's Ladder and Garnet Bowl.

From Garnet, there are three different routes to go, whether it be straight ahead, to the left, or the right.

Each line is a steep chute that hugs the rocks on either side before dropping out into the steep and wide open bowl below.

These lines are known as Mid-Bowl Roll on skier's right and Gully on skier's left.

Both lines in the center and heart of Diamond Bowl are completely wide open and very steep before intersecting with the lines coming from Sapphire Bowl, Zut Zut and Family Jewels.

These lines eventually intersect the Blackcomb Glacier Road lower down, taking you back to the lower sub-alpine lifts.

Make sure there is adequate visibility before attempting lines within Diamond Bowl, as there is a significant cliff hazard present.
